Getting your test results
We want to improve the ways you can receive your test results. We hope to have some results available for you online but if not you can also phone the practice after 11am to find out the results of your tests. Some results take longer to arrive than others as follows:
Cervical smear – 6-8 weeks
Blood – 5-7 working days
Faecal test results (poo) – 6-7 working days
Swab culture and sensitivity – 3-5 working days
Urine test results – 2-3 working days
Xray report – 2-3 weeks
Please note, do NOT assume that a result is normal if we do not contact you. The surgery will contact you if there is a significant problem with your results, but please contact us for all results as the GP may have made some suggestions or advice based on your results even if there is not a significant problem.
It is your responsibility to call back for results usually 5 working days after the test has been taken. Please call after 11am to find out the results.
In future you may wish to register for online services to have the ability to Book or Cancel an Appointment, Request a Repeat Prescription, Change Personal Details and View your Medical Records without visiting the practice.
